Hands in mouth and being sick - help!

My 24 week old daughter (20 weeks corrected) in constantly now shoving her hands in her mouth and fairly frequently making herself gag/be sick. We've been shush/patting her to get her to sleep as she still has a night feed at 4/5 am but am now thinking this might be encouraging bad sleep patterns at night so she doesn't learn to sleep by herself.

Any ideas please?

My son (21 weeks) is doing exactly the same. The only thing that stops him is teething gel. I can see he is in quite a bit of discomfort but he's not really adept enough to use a teething ring yet.

i'm not sure she's teething yet as she doesn't seem in pain or upset - though i will try that.

DD (19 weeks) has been making herself sick by shoving her hand in her mouth, but she seems to be learning not to now - just like she gradually learnt not to poke herself in the eye or bash herself on the head! Guess these are things we all had to learn at some point.

Ah - so glad someone else started this thread - I was just about to myself.

My son is 17 weeks (12 weeks corrected) and has been doing this A LOT in the past couple of weeks.

He's never had a dummy and now I am blaming myself for not giving him one as he is shoving his whole fist into his mouth really far back and choking/vomiting a bit. Drooling a lot too.

I've checked his gums and there don't seem to be any teeth coming through - bit early anyway.

Would be glad to hear of any ideas.
