2yo making himself sick - help!

I'm 14 weeks pregnant with second baby and as with ds1 I've been extremely sick. Ds1 knows exactly what's going on, when we are alone together he follows me to the toilet and although he rarely seems upset, he talks about me being sick a lot. If dh is there he tries to distract him, but ds still tries to follow me to the bathroom.
A couple of weeks ago ds had a tummy bug and was sick a few times. Since then, whenever he coughs he starts to gag and acts out throwing up. This afternoon he was actually sick at his childminders and again just after we got home at teatime. It may be that he's poorly but the childminder said he was gagging before he was sick.
Even if there is another reason that he was sick today, I'm worried about the gagging. I don't know how to respond, whether to ignore it or try to talk to him about it (quite hard with a 2yo - last week I asked him "do you feel sad when mummy's poorly?" and he replied "watch night garden"!)
I know that he's been upset by me being ill, but I'm worried I've caused some major psychological damage that he's acting out being sick. He's fine otherwise, if a little more clingy than usual.

Any advice?

It's not at all surprising that he 'knows' you are pregnant and that he has become more clingy and sensitive as a result.
His habit of making himself sick is a little more surprising, but try not to worry too much. I'm sure he has not been psychologically damaged, he's just copying your new habit. It is normal for him to follow you to the bathroom, but try to keep him outside and not allow him to see you actually being sick.
Hopefully the habit will wear off very quickly, as these things usually do in 2 year olds.
He'll forget it all soon enough.
