16 week old sleeping patterns

Not sure if this should be here or in sleep - but just wondered if there was a reason for this that could be put down to normal development?

DD is 16 wks old, she has never been a good day time napper but has, since about 5 weeks known what bed time means and has been sleeping through (just jinxed it, I know I did!) from 8pm to 6.30am from about 11 weeks. In the early days I would do pretty much everything - long walks and lots of sling usage to get her to get some day time sleep. Lots of people commented though that she was a very wakeful baby.

Recently however she has started sleeping more and more during the day (not having any effect on night time sleep). She has slept around five hours so far today which is an extraordinary amount for her

This has only been in the last few days. Is this normal development? Is she having the 4 month growth spurt and just sleeping a lot more? Is the infamous regression around the corner?! She doesn't have a temperature, is otherwise in good form. She is with a childminder normally as I am back at work and even the childminder commented that she is sleeping a lot, even doing 2 hour stretches which was previously unheard of.

Just being a bit panicky here, I know, but I can't believe she has been asleep for so long!! She's been asleep for just under 2 hours now! She'll never sleep tonight!

hey, if you feel panicky then see hte hv/gp - put your mind at rest at least :-)

If she is well, eating well, good colour and tone and happy I wouldn't be concerned...sounds great to me!!

Thanks. I suspect she is just going through a growth spurt but may ask the doctor next week when we go for vaccinations.
