HI there - I'm new to MN and a bit embarrassed to be starting things off with this topic! My 3 year old has definately found his new best friend -ever since he's been out of nappies his hand has been in his pants on a daily basis. I'm not worried about the fact he's interested - I would just appreciate some advice on what to say to him to let him know that its natural but that telling people in the supermarket that his "willy is a bit big" is not the best idea! And definately not to show them! Also - he does have some quite impressive erections and I'm wondering if this is normal at his age???
Any advice.....

DS (4) takes his trousers and pants off at any opportunity to play with his. i just explain that it's fine to play with it on his own but i don't want to watch (particularly when he pulls his foreskin a really long way).

It's perfectly normal though.

Lol. My 2.9 year old loves to play with his. He yells "Look mummy, look at my winky"

a stern 'hands out' normally does the trick ! Personally, I treat willy twiddling the same way as nose picking and bum scratching. At 4.11, DS1 is starting to realise that, at least in theory, these things should be done in private...

It's amazing how far they stretch though

Ooh - that sounds like good advice - only doing it at home would keep it out of the public arena - am very glad its normal and i haven't got a wee man with excess testosterone.
