5 week old crying when he poos

I've recently noticed that DS2's random crying spells aren't all that random - they start about 10 minutes before he poos, and finish very soon afterwards (not l of the random crying spells, some are still a mystery).

Does/did anyone else's baby do this? Should I worry, or will it sort itself out in time?

My baby used to make strange noises when she did a poo in her early weeks. Apparently some babies make noises because they find the bowel movement and passing the poo to be a very strange feeling. She stopped doing it after a few months.

I hope that makes sense, but if you are really concerned that he might be crying for other reasons then get the GP to check him over.

DD2 did this too - like doing a poo was a big deal. We worried like crazy - thought it was hurting or something. Don't think it was. She grew out of it after a couple of months!

DD did this, crying, red faced in pain, not just poo pushing noises. We ff fed her and were recommended Cow and Gate Comfort. It costs a bit more but really helped.
We also took her to a chiropractor (no clicking bones) who gave her little tummy massages. Change was obvious quite quickly.

DD was convinced pooing would kill her for the first few weeks and would only do it when BFing released her digestive reflexes (MASSIVE poos). She would panic and get VERY anxious right before, which was quite out of character for her.

After a couple of months she grew out of it.

We went through the whole thing over again when she started weaning as her poss suddenly got more solid.

If the GP says there's nothing obvious wrong, it could just be a change in sensation that has your DS worried.
