Not quite two year old playing up at bedtime

Just wanted to know if others had any similar experience or suggestions before I think about changing bedtime.

Dd(23 months) has been very playful
in run up to bedtime then singing/ chatting in her cot for anything up to an hour(sometimes more) at night. No other changes to routine and she does seem tired before she goes to bed- just can't settle. I haw tried being bit calmer/quieter before bed to see if she will settle better as overtired but doesn't seem to make any odds.

I am reluctant to move bedtime as dh thinks it's a phase of her being overtired and it will pass(apparently dsc had this issue).

tbh if all she is doing is singing/talking to herself in her cot i'd leave her to it!
only intervene if she is unhappy i reckon

my eldest is like this, put him to bed and he'll quite happily play or chat or sing away for an hour or so!

Thanks thisisyesterday- she generally is happy(and if se starts to cry I go in to her).

definitely leave her to it if only singing chatting to herself etc, i wouldnt change bedtime, maybe she just needs that time relaxing in cot before actually sleeping? alot of children do it i think, mine is same age and sings/chats in bed for ages, and has done so for ages. i let him chose what cars to take in bed and play for a bit if he wants. as long as they are happy dont think they need to fall asleep soon as they get in bed so wouldnt worry

Oh yes, if she's happy (and not getting out of the cot causing havoc!) I'd leave her to it Probably the toddler version of reading to yourself before you go to sleep.

My son is just two and he does the same thing. I don't think it's anything to worry about. I did the same as a child! Distinctly remember being put to bed and singing my little heart out....

Thanks for all experiences- has reassured me that is just how she is
