My son was diagnosed with torticollis months ago and has been booked in for an MRI scan. He's nearly 19 month and will have to be sedated, the thing is should I leave it and hope it gets better on it's own or should I let them scan him to get confirmation? I am dreding having to not feed him for 6 hours before and no liquids for 2 hours before :-( How do you tell a toddler it's for the best. I tempted to cancel it all, but then if his head goes over to one side again I will wish I had got him scaned :-( Help advice needed stressing mommy

I know its difficult but I think if youve got a booking, it might be best to go ahead with it rather than lose the opportunity. My DD had an MRI and it is not that easy to just get a booking for one when you want it. (Unless in your NHS area it is easier).

It wont be easy to do the nil by mouth - it's easier if it's a morning booking and usually the staff are good at trying to make sure the little ones dont wait too long. It might be worth it to put your mind at rest to have the results and make sure your DS is getting the treatment he needs, if he needs any.

Hope it goes well whatever you decide.

Thank you shouldbeironing, your right I will just have to get it done and grin and bare it. Hopefully I will try and get a morning appointment.
Like all parents we will find it very hard to see out little one go hungry and also be a little confused as to why we wont give him anything :-(
I think the main thing is I am dreding him being put to sleep :-(
