10-year-old with sore breasts - bra? vest?

Dd is 10.5, and she is juuuust beginning on puberty. She has tiny breasts, but says they are sore, and she's also been teased by other girls. She'd be a triple A cup size if that, and it's clearly too early for a bra, but I wondered if you can get support/sports vests for her agegroup, and if so where? Many thanks!

My dd1 (10.3) also has little breast buds and has complained of them hurting on occasion. I don't think (not sure) that its the jiggling that is an issue as much as the developing tissue just growing very fast.

Anyway, she now is the world's largest proponent of matching underwear! We went to Tesco and bought about 10 sets of knickers + croptop - each cost from £2 to £6 each so I suppose I spent £30 or so. The croptops are just enough support to make her feel better, she feels really grown up and there's no issue changing for gym etc at school if she has a little croptop on.

Teen bras seem to start (from what I can see) at 28AA, and I measured her chest and she's not 28" yet (close, but not close enough!) and there's no real "cup" there yet.

I thin that (secretly) she'd quite like a bra, but is too small yet and as we start school later in Scotland, she's only p5 (year 4) so it seems early to me! The croptop seems like a good solution in the meantime.

And if she takes after me she'll be cursing her Bravissimo GG cups later in life!!!

Thanks so much, weegiemum. Yeah, I think it's just the rapid growth too, but there is also a big shyness factor.

My dd is at this stage too. I first got her crop tops, and then a friend found a load of bras between 26AA and 28AA. At school she wears the crop tops and at home she wears the bras.

I think you're best bet at the moment is the crop tops.

I'd get her whatever fits the best and is most comfortable. My just 9 dd covets an orange bra, not sure why for either the bra or the colour it's just her hearts desire

Shyness is a big thing here too. With me she will have a laugh and "jiggle" a bit but with her brother (sister is only 6, doesn't really notice, but my ds is 8) and Dad she is shy.

Luckily (and not for the other girls involved, I feel for them) she is nothing lie the most "developed" in her class.

Something else that I don't know if your dd is shy about/worried about but mine was terrified about what would happen if her period started in school. I think she's a bit away from that so far - no hair yet for example - but she was worried. SO we bought a pack of the tiniest 'always' we could find, she has them in her knicker drawer adn has one in the secret pocket of her schoolbag, jsut in case. That has really helped.

Actually the school has been brilliant -not words that pass my lips often - and had them all make a period pack containing pads, clean knickers and tights, and wipes. She feels really in control about it after that! She's not the most 'developed' either, but I was very early so maybe she will be too.

Abby sounds liek your school is fabulous!!!

I emailed head teacher about this last week (think there should be bins in the junior girls loos, that they should know where to go for help (my dd1's p6 (yr5) teacher for next year is male - a fantastic teacher I know but I can't expect my dd to approach him about "girl" issues)

Waiting to hear. Might suggest a "period pack" - sounds lie an excellent idea. I will never forget the girl in my class (p6 - yr5) crying in the loo as she thought she was dying - noone had ever told her about what would happen. And it can happen so much earlier these days!!!!
