Moving nurseries

We're moving house soon, and wondering whether to move 16mo DD's nursery at the same time, or whether to keep her at current nursery for a month or so after we move while she gets used to the new house/area etc? She's pretty happy where she is but we can't keep her there long-term as it adds an hour to the commute once we move... just want to make the transition as painless as possible, and worried that moving house and nursery at the same time might be more upsetting. Anyone have any experience they could share? All tips gratefully received...

We unfortunately had to move house and nurseries twice in the last 18 months. Both times we moved house, we changed nursery at the same time (as was so far away didn't have a choice), but what helped was having a week off in the new house to help DD get used to it, and then started nursery for 2 days and the following week (week 3!)we were back to the normal pattern.

It wasn't easy, but worked okay. The trick for us wasn't about the nursery (they all seem to follow reasonably similar routines), but trying our hardest to keep her bedroom layout the same. That made the most difference for us. Hope this helps!

Thanks, I hadn't thought of that angle, the room layout especially. More to mull over - reassuring that the nursery move isn't necessarily the issue... I think!
