about 8 or 10?

HelenRosie · 08/05/2010 14:07

By 2 they should have all 20 primary teeth. But how quickly they erupt varies greatly.

Worrier28 · 08/05/2010 14:35

My nearly 13 month year old only has two but is a good eater and been walking for a month.

belgo · 08/05/2010 14:36

My ds at this age had 16 teeth but this is a lot.

ki28 · 08/05/2010 14:39

My 14th mnt old has all her teeth. i think its different in each child though.

greensnail · 08/05/2010 14:41

my 16 month old has 14 teeth

LittlePeopleCo · 08/05/2010 15:12

My 14mo old has 6 so far, 4 at the top, two at the bottom. She is 'young' for her age though, v little, not standing yet.

LittlePeopleCo · 08/05/2010 15:12

Apologies, I meant not walking yet.

Ewemoo · 08/05/2010 22:05

My 16mo dts have 4 each but they were 6 weeks premature if this makes a difference which I presume it does. In my case I have double the teething to get through - only 32 to go!

smallblackflowers · 08/05/2010 22:26

My 14 mo has 2, but also has very little hair and tiny feet! Not sure if they are related
Otherwise she is pretty normal, is just about walking, can say a few words and is a good eater.

PatTheHammer · 08/05/2010 22:50

varies greatly I think. My DS has just turned 16mths and only has the 4 very back ones to come....so 16 I am guessing (second child-can you tell)!

I think the average age to have all 20 is 2 years as someone else said.

dearprudence · 08/05/2010 22:52

My DS didn't cut his first tooth until 13 months, and I know he had two at 18 months. Normal development in all other respects.

I know this was very late, but was always reassured by HV, etc.

CrystalQueen · 09/05/2010 13:40

My DD had none at 15 months, and now has 8 at 18 months (they were a fun few weeks). All the 'so many teeth by X months" are just averages.

sailingby · 09/05/2010 22:27

My DS had none at 14 months and 4 at 2yo (I was starting to think about panicking!). He now has 18 at 3.5yo, they came at fairly steady intervals between 2 and 3 (and he never had any obvious pain when they were coming through). And he was a fairly normal developer in all other regards.

DD has 8 at 14 months. She is a martyr to her teeth, queen of the dribblers when a new tooth is in the offing. She was walking at 9 months, but otherwise same development as DS.

pigleychez · 10/05/2010 12:22

My DD didnt get her first tooth till 14 mths. Never stopped her eating though.

She was born with a full head of hair, was walking at 11mths and chatting away by 13mths so figured she cant have everything!

iwouldgoouttonight · 10/05/2010 12:31

My DD (15 months) has 7 - six front ones and one random molar! DS, on the other hand, didn't get any until he was over 15 months and only got his final milk molars when he was nearly three!

herbgarden · 10/05/2010 22:34

DD is is nearly 16 months and has four upper, four lower front teeth and recently got her four eye teeth - I think (!) she has four molars - 2 upper and 2 lower...that seems to make 16. She's almost identically followed DS tooth appearances. She also has lots of hair and I think the two are generally linked?? I suspect it's just genetic isn't it? We all had early teeth apparently and I have enough hair on my head for two people .....(so the hairdresser tells me !). It seems to help with chewing and ....unfortunately....biting

caen · 11/05/2010 11:57

DD is 13 mo and has 12 I think which is above average. Better to get them later though as apparently they tend to have healthier adult teeth.
