He just won't hold his cup and drink himself he always fetches it to me.
At the last count i've got 13 different cups and beakers in my cupboard,i've got straws and spouts, big ones little ones the lot.
Any tips would be grateful.
I've also tried just leaving them for him to get but he just tips them up.

Don;'t hold it for him. If he doesn't hold it he doesn't get a drink. If he tips it all over the place, take it away for 5 minutes with a warning that if he tips it again you will take it away. It is not the cup although the many different tyopes could be confusing. Pick the one you like and stick to it.

I used to drink out of my DDs cup to encourage her to use it. It did work. I should add that I did this at home and not in public .

give him a cup with a lid and fold your arms. use that cup every time as different cups have different weight distribution.

I suspect, in the nicest possible way, that he doesn't hold his own cup because you pander to him too much and therefore he doesn't have to.

Handles are easier - my dd struggled to hold a cup without handles at the beginning as harder to tip up etc.

I agree with the others. Don't hold it for him. If he tips it up just take it away. No fuss or tutting or anything necessary but he will associate tipping etc with drink removal.

Perhaps try a cup with handles.

Do this consistantly for 3 days and I reckon he will be sorted by Monday morning.

good luck
