I have 13 week old twins, 6 weeks prem so 7 weeks corrected. They were born at 3lb and 4lb 2oz and now weigh 7lb 8oz and 8lb. They spent 3 weeks in SCBU and I was only able to breast feed twice a day for the first week or so. The rest of their feeds were through nasal tubes and the staff asked if they could have dummies as they were rooting when hungry and looking for some sucking comfort
A likes her dummy but can live without, M is an addict!
We have recently started putting them down at about 7pm, they feed at about midnight, 4am and 7am.
Problem is when we put them down, A goes straight off - dummy or no dummy and we normally don't hear a peep out of her until next feed. M goes down with a bit of encouragement, always with dummy and then wakes and whinges/cries continually every time her dummy falls out for the next couple of hours, then somehow is ok for the rest of the night.
Help [sad}
Everything is going so well with the bedtime routine and night feeds, this is really stressing me out. DH does evening duty as I do night duty (breast feeding) and he's up and down the stairs continually sticking the bloody dummy in - straight back to sleep!
Sorry for long post, thanks all.
