DS is 17 weeks old and due to finances im going to need to spend more time at home. When we are at home he seems to get grumpy and tired really easily & is sleeping quite a lot and so not really at night which also means im spending most of the day with my ass stuck to the sofa. We do walks to the park etc but i just wondered what everyone else does?

Go out walking, to [free] places, such as petting zoos/walk along a river/to a museum (even if he's tiny, it's more stimulating looking at different things), toy library/playgroup/library/Surestart centre, whatever is available locally. Bt with the weather getting better you'll be able to be outside loads if you take a rug and a few toys and just chill out with a picnic for yourself. My kids were tiny through the winter so lots of freeing walks around the duckpond and endless time spent wrapping them up in lots of layers.

Hi. At 17wks your baby is still very young and needs to sleep a lot. Perhaps he is grizzly cos hes starting to teeth?
Lots of walks will help to pass the time, but when at home, your ds doesnt need entertained all the time he is awake. Lying/sitting on a blanket under a jungle gym and some rattles, things to chew on, should keep him amused for a good while. Use this time, to do something you enjoy-you will eventually settle into a routine you are both happy with.
