What do you do with your DCs whilst at home?

DS is 17 weeks old and due to finances im going to need to spend more time at home. When we are at home he seems to get grumpy and tired really easily & is sleeping quite a lot and so not really at night which also means im spending most of the day with my ass stuck to the sofa. We do walks to the park etc but i just wondered what everyone else does?

I empathise as the days when I keep my 18 week old at home usually end up in a grumpy mess and a bad night. Have tried a few different things such as reading stories from the library, baby massage, singing songs to a nursery rhyme CD to fill in the time a bit. Hope this helps!

At that age they're pretty mobile so you can take them out lots. Now the weather's better, even a blanket in the garden is nice.

Feeling lonely can be a problem when you have a small baby. If money is an issue, take it in turns to invite a friend round for tea and cake. Fellow mums were my lifeline when I had my DS1.

Toddler groups may sound a bit old for a 17 week old, but its a good place to meet other mums and they are often free or almost free.
Good luck and make the most of it- once they're walking you can't take your eyes off them!

Just thought today as well. Do you have a Children's Centre near you? They have tonnes of stuff on that even young babies can join in. I have done baby massage and also a baby music thing there. All free too!
