As usual, things come to a head after hours on a Friday.
DD2 has been teething. She is 21 weeks and 1st tooth appeared after a bit of a fraught week 2 weeks ago. She was then lovely but then caught a sickness bug off DD1 last weekend. Since then she has been incredibly unsettled with what appears to be very sore wind. But she has also been sucking frantically on her fingers and pulling at her gums. She has been waking at night where she was previously sleeping through and is inconsolable: writhing and thrashing and desperate to sleep but can't. No amount of massage seemed to help. In fact her tummy was rigid. She was doing this for 5 hours the night before last. I've kept her dosed with calpol and calgel to no avail. Her nappies have been more frequent of late and were a bit dodgy mid-week (white curds and dark green seeds, both unusual for her, and stank to high heaven) so I got in touch with HV. We decided that it must be the sickness bug working through after this morning's effort was a bit more normal.
To summarise, she has been really unhappy and crying most of the time, inconsolably, and quite distressed. Not sleeping or napping. And to top it off, spots on her cheeks this evening. No temperature. She is EBF and has food intolerances but I haven't eaten anything different this week.
