Hi,
This is my first login to this site, i'm reaching desperation and looking for some help please!! My 20 month old has been chucking his food on the floor for several months now and its totally doing my head in. The worry about how much he's eating and the constant cleaning up id a nightmare. I think he would happily live off cheese and bread and pretty much throws everything else on the floor. Has anyone got any tips for dealing with this?? Ta.

watching to see if you get any decent advice! My 18mth old does this - throws food on the floor for the dog, but does it fi dog isn't there/at nursery etc! He has good aim, I'll give him that.

Hi,
Theres a bit more on this problem in the feeding section, a few people have the same problem. At least you have a dog to hoover up the mess, i'm on my knees with a dust pan and brush! This morning, he was still in his high chair while i was sweeping, and he threw his beaker on my head! charming!

Pop a plastic sheet under his chair and pop the food back on the table every so often is my only suggestion. I tis a phase, and it will pass - eventually.

Hi I'm a childminder and looked after a little boy who ate beautifully for me and was a little horror at home, throwing EVERYTHING. The only differences I could see between my house and his was 1. our dog 2. he knew if he threw it on my floor he wouldn't get it back and 3. I didn't get as stressed about it as his mum did.
So my advice would be if he throws it on the floor take it off him, he'll soon get the message, but do it in a calm way - that's the hardest bit!

We do- it definately is towards the end of the meal, so we intercept and remove missile! It's just a very slow improvement-very slow
