Advice about teething baby who won't eat

My DD is ten months old and appears to be suffering while cutting her top teeth.

(DD1 had no teething problems that I remember so this is new to me).

She started refusing savoury foods about three or four weeks ago and she's now hardly eating anything. She will eat a few spoons of weetabix, yoghurt, maybe bread or toast and occasionally scrambled egg. She really dislikes me introducing the spoon (soft spoon) and prefers to finger feed, but she's in a Stokke high chair and just pushes herself away from the table, which means she drops everything on the floor.

I'm going bonkers making different foods for her to try, to no avail.

She's still drinking her formula milk - occasionally objects but if you can get the teat into her mouth, she'll drink the milk. I guess she's having about 22 ounces a day.

She's running a temperature every evening and during the night. She's snotty and whingy - the snot has been constant since February (she started nursery in January so I'm guessing that's something to do with it).

I'm beginning to feel quite worried about her - not sure how much of the problem is due to teething and how much is due to some sort of virus.

She's on calpol and neurofen. She won't let me in her mouth for any sort of gel for her gums. I tried Ashton's powders but she blew them in my face (!).

Any advice? Anything else I could be doing?

Has she seen the GP? Might be as well to rule out ear infection/throat infection etc.

Yes, it sounds more like a virus than teeth - the food thing may be unrelated.

thanks for your opinions.

I think she's had one long virus since January, or one on top of another.

She doesn't rub her ears or anything - but perhaps I really ought to take her to the GP.
