Does anyone suffer from aching back / sore kness when bathing their babies? My baby is only 3 months old and bath time is a real pain in the ass - literally!! Any suggestions?

You could buy a baby bath and put it on the kitchen work top? Or if you don't mind cool water, take your dc in the bath with you. My ds loves to bath with me and is much more confident in the water.

We have one of those gardening kneely things that we kneel on next to the bath.

Thanks for the tips. I have quite a small kitchen so would prefer to stay in the bathroom. Any other ideas?

We always take it in turns to actually go into the bath with the baby. The other parent then is ready with towel etc when needed.Lovely bonding time too.

Definitely bath with your baby. Just a lovely thing to do. Only problem is that you need someone else around to help you both get out.

We had a Tummy Tub when DS was little, he loved it and it was a back saver. We didn't have the stand but imagine that would help even more.

No solution to the aching back but would suggest a builder's bucket as an alternative to the tummy tub.

Use a bath support to put baby in so you have not got to be constantly leaning over into the bath to hold the baby. I started using one in main bath from about 3 months and DD loves the freedom and room to be able to kick without me having to hold her.

Bath in the kitchen sink!

It's a killer isn't it? Kneel on a small pile of towels. Stops your knees from getting sore and because it raises you up a bit, will take the pressure of your back too.

I use a bath support. No kneeling required. (well not so much..)

definitely go for the bathing with them option. DP does this nearly every night and its really lovely daddy - baby time. Actually our DS (8 months) used to throw a strop if he was in there alone but loved if he had company. Nice way to get skin on skin if you are not bf also. Our DS likes the water pretty warm too (and always did), when we did it as cool as we thought was right when he was tiny he hated it. I rarely do the bending over the bath thing cos it does kill your back but I must admit to getting in with him and if DP isn't there I just tuck him under my arm and climb out. Happy splashing!!
