When do boys grow out of 'Thomas'

My 5 year old is Thomas the Tank MAD!!! Is this normal, I thought that it was for younger children, I've not got a problem with him enjoying it, it is much better than some of the tripe that masquerades as childrens programmes nowadays but I would be comforted if other people have older cguldren still enjoying Thomas....

My kids (4 and 2) both adore Thomas. My 4yo however is getting peer pressure to switch his affections. Another 4yo at DS's nursery told me that he was far too old for Thomas.

I think it is a real shame. It has appeal way beyond age 4 and DS still loves it, it is just that he is getting this pressure at nursery to get into Ben10 and other things instead. Whilst DS has loads of trains etc which he plays a lot with, I am wary of buying merchandise with Thomas logos in case he gets the piss taken out of him for using it.

wow, i hate to say it but that website is quite cool - my 5y old will love it thanks!

Don't worry, he still wears his George Pig pants at the weekend !

This teenager (or in 20's perhaps) clearly still likes Thomas - video is a review of some latest Thomas DVD releases
He is SI3DFilms on Youtube, which has lots of 5 to 6 minute long videos of Thomas episodes recreated in Trainz. Such as A Close Shave

Given I don't like the new Thomas 3D on Ch5... I do quite like these Trainz versions. Maybe because they are not perfect!

aaah bless 'im. I must admit, I did find an excuse to watch Hiro of the Rail today when the boys were watching it - did some ironing in the same room

I loathe Thomas and those horrid stories about those nasty trains. I'm going to steer ds2 away from them as much as I can.

Ds1 lost interest in Thomas around 3.5 years.

nannynick · 28/03/2010 23:54

Daisy isn't nasty!

in my case it was my daughter. She was around 4 when she dropped it.

I hate those Thomas books. They put me off reading with my DC because they only seemed to want to read those dreadful things. Thanksfully everyone has lost interest in Thomas now

i'm sure i've commented on a similar thread in the last couple of months but my Dad (59 yrs young) is still steam train mad . . . . . . he's actually just phoned me tonight to say he's bought another train, some trucks and sidings today at the Severn Valley Railway and apparently is going to a train collectors fair at the weekend to buy a guard van for it.

I just smile and say yes dad' or thats great Dad' accompanied by a knowing `hmmmmm'
