.....mine is .

She is 2 and 9 months and a few months ago we got a box of fairy stories. Read all of them ad nausem but have stuck on Jack and the Beanstalk for ages.

However, last night she picked out Puss in Boots, and proceeded to 'read' it out to me. She remembered most of the info from every page - even mentioning The Duke of Carabas!!! - and said 'Ogre grrrrrrrr'.

Do I have a budding Einstein or what?

Mine not v sporty either, DS2 is v funny, maybe he could go into comedy. DS1 likes bossing people around, that could be useful in many areas of life, methinks

northerner · 21/07/2005 12:00

LOL at trolley head Ghost of Natt Where do they get these phrases from? Ds uses saucer face, it's a big insult in his pre school to be called a saucer face.

oliveoil · 21/07/2005 12:00

Neither of mine are sporty (lol at baby being sporty), dd1 whinges climbing down from the kitchen step into the garden, and up again.

Excuse me GetOrlaithout?

QueenOfQuotes · 21/07/2005 12:09

northerner - we'd not allowed to 'brag' about our children's finer qualities

Mind you if we started a thread saying "what is your child not very good at" someone would probably flame us for that.........

So I could put it here.............

northerner · 21/07/2005 12:11

I think she should come back and explain her last comment.

expatinscotland · 21/07/2005 12:12

But Orlaith will probably be evicted on Friday.

Way another name change?

okapi · 21/07/2005 12:22

I don't have to boast about how intelligent my kids are, as other people come up to me and tell me they are

frogs · 21/07/2005 12:29

My 19-month old dd2 is a bit on the slow side, developmentally. But she can tell the sound of a sweetie wrapper being opened from three rooms away. I reckon she'll go far.

oliveoil · 21/07/2005 12:34

Why is it naff to be proud of your children?

I have no idea Olive.

I would never go onto someone else thread saying pass me a bucket, or this is naff.

Gets right on my Norks.

QueenOfQuotes · 21/07/2005 12:37

sure it's only boring for others if they haven't yet got any children???

I can't believe for one minute that ANYONE with a child (on MN) couldn't find at least one thing to brag about their child/ren

Well I find the moaning threads extremely tedious sometimes and they get on my norks but I wouldn't post 'get off your arse and change things then'.
