DD telling lies.. don't know how to deal with it

DD (3.9) has started shouting 'you're hurting me', pretending to be sick etc when she gets told off. i.e. earlier she threw a wobbler in the garden because DH wouldn't get the football net out for her and DS as it was too muddy. The tantrum escalated and so he bought her inside to calm down (calmly and without fuss) and she started shrieking that he was really hurting her and to get off etc. I wondered if anyone had any tips on how to deal with this sort of thing? Or whether anyone knows of a book or something that that might help (I mean a story we can read to her)

TIA

Have you explained to her what might happen if a neighbor overheard?

Ignore, ignore, ignore. Honestly.

It's not lying - it's drama-queening. Treat it with lofty disdain. It will pass!

I am liking the phrase drama-queenig and will purloin it forthwith seeker

docket, I agree that you should ignore ignore ignore

seeker/Caitlin you are right I know. But it does worry me that someone might think we are hurting her.

She seems so young to be drama-queening...

You're right. It's just so upsetting to listen to it.

I shall ignore...
