Howls if he doesn't get what he wants

For about a week now, my DS has started absolutely howling if he grabs for something he really wants and doesn't get it. The remote control, my cheese sandwich etc. I gave him some of my sandwich, distracted him from the remote. What should I be doing (and by when) so he doesn't become a spoiled brat?

He is 6 months old.

My DS is also 6 months old and has just started doing this as well! Had a proper strop in the bath the other day when we took the sponge he was sucking (euuuw!!) away from him. We just gave it back to him but also thought maybe shouldn't do that.
So sorry no help at all but will watch thread hopefully for some advice.

welcome to impeding toodlerhood.

Pick your battles, if its important don;t give in. Ignore ignore ignore.
eventually they get the idea. like in 6 or 7 years.

He's 6 months old. Share the sandwich, keep everything else out of reach and remember that he is too young for understanding or discipline. He won't be a spoiled brat!

What? I was scanning for an age thinking he would be much older. He is 6 months old, of course he cries when he can't have something he wants - he doesn't understand!

Give him the things he can have (when he is older and able to ask nicely, THAT is the age to withold things if he screams for them) and distract from the things he can't. Usefully at this age they forget about things in about 5 seconds once they can't see them any more.
