8mo going crazy in pram any advice?

My normally even tempered 8mo DD is going through what I hope is a phase but it's becoming quite restrictive. She mostly naps at home in her cot as I've always been quite keen that she understands she can sleep in her cot. She goes out in the pram every day, always has done but recently she has started going crazy if I take her out and she's not particularly tired. Sometimes I have to do this to get to wherever we're going on time and to be honest I don't really want going out to be restricted to nap time.
When I say she goes crazy - she goes crazy - it's full on hysterics real tears and generally extremely upset. The pram faces away from me and I suspect this may be part of the reason she has recently started cruising and I also think she really just wants to be up and about.

Is this likely to just be a phase and any top tips to try and placate my beautiful little banshee?

Thanks

My son is 10-months and doesn't want to be in the buggy, he just wants to walk - he can't yet, it means me holding both his hands and baby stepping with him. We scream until w reach the park and then hope he will fall asleep so I can get round the shops.
My buggy faces away and I don't think it makes a jot of difference.

awww i was going to ask if your buggy was forward facing andi see it is.
i had the same thing with ds3, and i did get a rear-facing one and he is MUCH better in it

I don't know how strong your LO is, but at about 9 mo my DS went into one of those tricycles that you push. He absolutely loved it and it gave him the independence he was after (plus he was exhausted when we got home so would sleep like a dream!).

My ds was the same in a pushchair that faced away. I borrowed my friend's loola that faced towards me and it made the world of difference. He hated not being able to see me and point to things. Also meant that if he was getting bored I could see him, comfort him and distract him before it reached meltdown. Needless to say I went out that week and bought my own Loola and got my life back again! My ds is 2.6 and doesn't often go in the pushchair now but the other week i put him in my friend's outward facing oe when he was a bit tired and he was crying within 5 minutes, think some babies and kids like to be able to see and 'chat' to you.

Oh no I love our pram too! Any recommendations for a cheapish rear facing alternative?...can you get a rear facing buggy?
