As some of you know that over the last year I have really struggled with my toddler, and I really don't think things are getting easier. I need some help before I go mad. Not sure what help I can get or where I can get? Does anyone know?

I'm afraid I haven't seen your other posts but sorry to hear you are finding life hard with a toddler. How old is your little one? What are you finding the most challenging thing?

Not sure whether you are after ongoing face to face help, but have you heard of Parentline Plus? They have a telephone helpline, email helpline, webchat and various local support. Website tells you more. Might be a good place to start and they can almost certainly sign-post you to other support if you feel you need something different. Or they can probably talk you through your options and help explain what support is out there.

Good luck - it's a great first step to decide to find some help and I hope you can find something / someone to support you.

www.home-start.org.uk are very good at giving support - see if there is one local to you - they can help with all sorts of things - behaviour stratgies, parenting, isolation or just having someone to talk to who understands.

I was desperate. dh and i were miserable and it had been going on for 1.5 years, so nt just a 'phase'.
I googled 'parenting courses surrey' - enter your county as appropriate
this took me to the surrey county council website that runs courses. i have signed up for 2 that start in april.
also to surrey family links, who also run course and were very helpful.
it also took me to another lady that i e-mailed and she phoned me back. just luck i think, but she was beautiful. bonded with her immed, she listened to everyhting and suggested 2 things and a book to read- the 5 languages of love. her care of me, on phone for over 1 1/4 hours, touched me. and she said i could get back to her anytime.
hope you fine one like her.

Haven't seen your other posts but I can sympathise.

My HV referred me to a child psychologist practising out of our local Childrens Centre. We had about five one-hour sessions and it really helped build my knackered confidence back up. Result was one much happier mother and toddler.

Ask specifically what services your HV can refer you to- I am sure it varies from area to area.

Are you in touch with your local Children's Centre? Some of the play workers at mine are very good too.

I am going to see the HV tomorrow and go from there. I have also looked at Parent plus so may give them a call.

Forgot to add thank you so much for replying. I feel like a totally useless mother.

Don't feel useless! You are posting on MN to try to help things, which is definitely not useless!

Good luck tomorrow with the HV!
