Right, I think the potty training is going well, so lets tackle the dummy...

My DS is 2.5, and we've been potty training for 3/4 weeks very successful so far, hardly and accidents so I think we've cracked it, he loves the potty and goes on proper loo now. If we could just ditch the bloody dummy, he only has it at nights but will sneak it in if he finds one lying around. How the bloody hell do I get rid of it? D'ya reckon he's old enough to send it to Santa or the Easter Bunny maybe? Help please, I hate the bloody thing and want all your lovely ideas and help....He's a clever little sod and very, ahem, spirited lol!

awww bless
he's being so grown up with potty training

leave him with his comfort

he's only little

thanks trinity, i admit sometimes I'm torn, it seems a bit cruel after he worked so hard on the potty stuff. By the way, I've lurked on your threads for a while, hope all is well with you and yours.

thanks gemmummy

we are plodding along just now

no huge calamities atm

just a £100 fine for late tax return

and 2 out of three girls on antibiotics

but we are ok, ish

we are hugging and talking

and the house is still tidy

the kids are helping willingly
I can feel the change in my mood (albeit slight) with the house in order

the kids have said how much they prefer it

maybe leave it a little longer (another month?) until potty training is a little more established, and then try the dummy fairy or something?

DS is 2.3 and we'll have to try something like this in a few months (he only has the dummy at night too) was thinking of bribing him with a scooter in return for his dummies

gemmummy · 03/03/2010 18:03

glad to hear that trinity, sometimes just plodding is a good thing, especially if you're all talking. Think you're very brave. Enough slopiness, back to the dummy

leave the dummy for now i waited until my ds was able to understand bit better then we went round and collected them up for the dummy fairy who was going to take to all the babies who had none

we bagged them up and left them outside the door i then said he had to hide and listen for the fairy i quickly threw the bag and replaced with big bundle of books found him hiding in his room and said shhh i can hear the fairy so we both ran to the door and he found his presents he was so over the moon but he was able to understand more by then and he never once asked for them again

leave him with his comfort for now ad tackle one thing at a time by the time your done with potty training he;ll be bit older and able to understand the concept better
