Just after some advice really my DS1 is 27 months and seems to be getting more and more crazy.

when he was 6 weeks old he started rolling around was walking at 10 months (without any help from me as I was heavily pregnant) learnt to jump out of his cot at 13 months. But now am at my wits end he messes up the whole house empties all my cupboards and drawers and just now has smeared make up all over my cream carpet!

just don't know what to do with him. he has no sugar, fizzy drinks or crisps cant imagine what he would be like with them!

Does anybody else have a child like this or am I the only one? or does anyone have any tips of how I can calm him down?

your not alone

My dd is just the same at 25 months old. Absolute crazy child...yesterday I popped to the toilet leaving her on my bed, she managed to climb off, find make up and then spread it all over: her nice new silk top, the bed sheets, her hands and her face!

All in the time that I went for a little wee!!!! How do they do it???

Shes sometimes a calm child, but this is rare and only when she has hot chocolate in her hand...any other time she is constantly up and wanting to do something. My DM never used to see her like it and was laways like 'you exagerate' until we moved in with her 6 months back...now she has seen her at her best

The best 'treatment' ive found is to take her out on a walk without her pushchair...watching other people, the cars go by, go to the shops, the park...fresh air seems to do the trick.

its quite difficult as DS2 is 11 months younger so I have to control the buggy and him which is a nightmare! he has laid on the pavement in the past LOL! sometimes I just have to laugh.

I tried to take him to the playgroup today but was told it was for under 24 months which is not fair really as one child is 16 months and the other 27.

oh well looks like its going to have to be locks on everything.

My 2.6 yr old is very very active too, and has session of being manic, but can and does play calmly. Its really hard to parent a very active child!

have you tired a wacky warehouse...theres one called funatics (dunno if they have any round by you) but its massive, theres a part just for toddlers, and you can sit and have cuppa watching them...theres also assistants that go round checking that all the children are ok/playing safe etc...

a funatics or just a wacky ???

I can sympathise. I had a toddler with so much energy. I joined Tumble Tots one day and while all the other toddlers walked calmly around with their carer ds ran and raced everywhere I had several comments like "is he always like that?" with shocked looks.

Fast forward several years he is still full of energy but loves sport and can run literally for miles. He won the challenge run for his age group racing against boys of his age in the whole borough last year and I was so proud.

So there may be some positives to come out of it in the future.

I think its a wacky warehouse will go and see it tomorrow....

23balloons I always get those comments too and also I get a lot of 'actually he wasn't too bad today'
