Hello, just in need of some advice,
my DS started walking on his reins nov/dec last yr, and he loved it, we would only go small distances, but my mil would take him for 2-3 mile walks, and again he loved it,
however for the last week or so, he has walked for lesser amounts of time consecutively, today he only got to the corner shop ( 200yds ) and he screamed to be picked up, and wants to go in the buggy.
i don't mind, but i was hoping that he would build up the length and distance he could walk instead he seems to be going backwards?

should i just ignore his tantrums and pull him along, or give in and put him in the buggy?

he doesn't mind his reins at all, and is quite egar to get out of the door at first , but then quickly changes his mind :S
i have no clue why any help/advice welcome

i would just use the buggy tbh. let him walk as much as he is happy to, and then use the buggy, he's only small still

Could he be in pain? Maybe take him to the GP to get him checked over, there's some nasty hip problems that little boys can get so it may be worth getting him looked at.

thing is, hes 106cm, he's not that small, and he runs around the house fine, and has been playing in the garden this afternoon so i don't think its anything medical, however he has an appointment wednesday for something else, i'l ask the doctor to check him over.
why else could he be doing this?

Has he falen over which has knocked his confidence? Are his shoes too tight?? Bored?? I used to play games with ds when we were walking, this helps.

Is he coming down with something / under the weather?

DD has times like this and has then come down with a bad cold or something a few days later.

Also it's very cold at the moment, my DD is nearly 3 and still hates walking in cold / biting wind and would rather be carried as she says it keeps her warm (!).

Or maybe the novelty has worn off? Cos walking outside when it's all new and exciting is great, but then after a while it all becomes dull and hard work....

No real advice as it has all been said, but you can feel secure in the knowledge that you can safely take him to the shopping centre!!

thanks ladies, i am thinking its the novelty worn off thing, il try and distract him with a song or game next time, see if that works,
