Putting kids unde r your arm

I have 4 kids from 1 to 7 and they are usually ok. However my 2 year old can get really really excited when he sees lovely tasty sweeties in the shop. Today he tried to take some drinks a few times then sat on the floor when he couldn't get them. A tactic I used today and in the past is to put him under my arm and remove him. He does complain a bit but stops within 10 seconds and on ce out of temptation's way is fin e. I did this with an elder child as well who often asks me to put him under my arm as well to this day. It doesn't hurt them at all, and as I have other kids who need to be watched it makes sense to me.

Am I totally wrong and treating them badly???

no

tis the rugby ball hold, and very useful too, as the wriggly legs can't kick you

My mum always tells me that I was a whingy baby at about 6 pm just when she needed to start cooking dinner for my dad's return home from work. Because my elder brother (he was 4 years older than me) would never want to entertain me when she was cooking dinner, she would have me under one arm and cook using the frying pan in the other!

Although that is probably not a good tale to tell (wouldn't be allowed in this day and age) but my mum also used to get my brother to watch me in the bath when I was a bit older. One day he handed me a razor blade (bic-like) to hold and it sliced open the bottom third of my wedding ring finger. Still got a nasty scar and stunted finger (not sure how the stunted finger came into it though), although I do have 3 knuckles missing - 2 on my left hand and one on my right.

Thanks all I had a good laugh at those answers . I just doubted myself because I happened to look up at someone who was watching me aghast with their jaw on the ground.

I should know to ignore that by now
