Do boys have some sort of eating/pooping/weird sleep thing going on at about 10?

I swear he has worms! He's either wanting to eat or on the toilet. I've never known him to eat this much. Poops are normal, just more times then normal, can't get to sleep at night, can't really get up in the morning without a cattle prod. Is this the start of the big P??

is he ten or 14?

he sounds a few years ahead of himself!

He's definetly 10!! (11 in April). He wants to eat all the time, it's very odd for him. It's the dreaded 'P' isn't it!! He's not tall enough to go through this yet, he's only the height of an 8 year old, he hardly used to eat (sob), he's making up for it now. He has a bit of a belly, should I not mention it or reduce the amount of cookies etc he's after, 3 puddings after supper is waaay too much IMO.

well, my ds is a bit younger (9.5 years to be precise ) but i find he eats more before having a growth spurt and it isnt always a physical one, it can be saying a new sound or learning to clap hands. so it could be that your ds's body is storing up all the energy he will need to do some growing!!

i wouldn't mention his tum, just try and encourage a bit of excercise and healthier eating although trying to encourage a 10 year old to do something that is good for them is no mean feat.

Exercise is a sore point at the moment. He has something wrong with the muscles in his legs so they get really painful if he walks too much (10 mins max without moaning is good). It's good to see him put on a little weight to be honest, it's just odd. He's 'growing' all the time, he has a photographic memory which is a pain so he learns alot. He is trying different foods now though which is really good, puberty's doing him some ood at least

He eats mainly healthy stuff, with cookies

My Ds's big P started at that age and along came the atttude ...it gets worse I'm afraid!

BelleDeChocolateFluffyBunny · 25/02/2010 00:37

I've already had the attitude, 10 years of it
He's OK at the moment, very affectionate infact. He's going to a boys school in September so they will be use to it (I hope).

So it IS a boy thing then??

considers options for DS2 before he gets to that stage....do they still do national service? chimney sweeping???

BelleDeChocolateFluffyBunny · 25/02/2010 00:44

It's not too late to send them off to boarding school

I can cope with a bit of cooking, it's just a shock to the system. Now, attitude....... what are we talking here? Refusal? Questioning?
