Bottle feeders how do you manage night feeds?

Ok, I know that you are supposed to boil a kettle let it cool for 30 mins mix up the feed, let it cool to right temp, add milk etc.

Are there any safe shortcuts. For example is it acceptable to boil the water pour it into ready sterilised bottles, leave them until the baby needs feeding, warm in the microwave then add the powdered milk?

That's how I did my bottles all the time.

You could buy the pre-made cartons for just the night, hopefully the night-feeding stage won't last long

Or, could you keep some cooled boiled water in the fridge and make bottles up 2/3oz short of what they're supposed to be, so pour in boiling water, add all powder to kill any bacteria, then add the last 2/3oz of water from the fridge, cooling the feed?

You could leave hot water in a thermos flask. That's what my HV told me to do, then you can just put it in a bottle and add the powder.

Thing is though, you need the water to be hot enough to kill the bacteria in the milk powder when it's added - so the thermos flask idea is potentially risky. SilveryMoon's idea sounds good.

I used to make up three bottles at a time with boiling water, cool instantly in a bowl of ice, then stick at the back of the fridge where coldest, which is also potentially risky but a good compromise for me.

we used a thermos flask to make feed up with fresh boiled water that hadn't had time to cool so still hot- and cooled it down in a jug of cold water kept by bed for the purpose. Again recommended by hv.
