4M DD continually rubbing her nose/sinuses

DD2 since birth has always appeared to have a cold. But, no temperature or anything else just continual apparent annoyance at her sinuses if that makes sense. She has done this since birth, and still has scratch mits on. If I take them of she scratches her face so much.
She literally rubs her face so hard, it wakes her up many times a night, and drives her crazy. She does have some dry sticky discharge very occasionally (sorry if tmi) and always appears slightly swollen in that area. She has no other symptoms, and Im wondering if it could be anything else?
She is 4m, formula fed, and wakes a zillion times a night, is generally an unhappy clingy baby, a million miles apart from DD1.

hi Frey. Could your DD be allergic to something? If it's worse at night, it could be dust mites or something?if so, I'd give all bedding in the room she sleeps in a super hot wash and iron. Get an allergy cover for the cot mattress and other beds. If possible, get hold of a HETA filter vacuum and thoroughly vacuum where she sleeps. Also wipe every surface with a damp cloth. And turn down all bedding in the room in the morning and open the window. This should make a difference quickly, especially if you do it every other day. I have hayfever and in the summer months dust mites etc will make things worse so I do this and it really helps.
Alternatively she could be allergic to something else - what washing powder to you use?
I'd also go to the doc to rule out a sinus infection and anything else...

She is also very red and blotchy. Doc has seen her so many times and just basically tells me to run with it, that she's not as good a baby as DD1 was.

FreyI would push to ask to be referred to a paediatrician - maybe see another GP and keep booking appointments until they relent. It could be an allergy and your doc obviously doesn't know the answer so saying "just run with it" is a bit off IMO.

Does anyone in your family have hayfever/asthma/ezcema?

Dust mites are worse at this time of year and anyone who is sensitive to them will suffer!
