well where should i start, my boy whos 4 now (and in school) is going to see someone at camhs (child adolesent mental health servies) next week.
ever since he could move from a to b he has done. from since about bein 2 myself and the nursery kept a close eye on him, hes very active, very disruptive to cut it short he's got a lot of the adhd, add, spectrum..
hes had people assess him in nursery, we had transition meetings for him going to school, his teachers report back and know the situation and are really good with getting things moving.. in the last 4 weeks hes been seen by the educational psychologist, hes had a medical assessment, im getting help of triple p (positive Parenting Program) and like i said camhs next week..
on friday i got a call from the deputy askin me to go in the school again.. and decuss putting finley in part time..he is very disruptive in school and tells me on a regular basis he doesnt like it.. hes starting the hit other kids which i know is wrong but when he's telling me "they always call me naughty" "my friends dont care about me" i dont know if to tell him off or feel sorry for him..
he also runs off regular in the school and has managed to get out off the school a couple off times..
were followin the green, yellow, red card stratagy..which isnt really working coz he doesnt realize hes doin wrong most of the time
im really just asking out for more help? if theres anyone outthere thats come to this situation of there child going "part time" how does that work? ive not known that before, i work myself i dont drive and its just me and my boy, would i get help with benefits or something for more childcare?..or do i give up work? sorry to go on a bit but just tryin to get help from every possible way???

there is something called 123 magic- which is a behaviour management program - specifically for add/adhd/ spectrum- might be worth finding out about it- also maybe contact your loca social servies dept. the childrens team might be able to point you in the right direcion for suspport etc. if you have a family centre or sure start- they also might help.

The part time thing is where your son will have set times at school normally a shortened day. Personally i think he is young for this. ask the school to contact the eduction dept for your area- they should have a team there that can offer support to the school.

There is a Red Cross project near me which runs a support group giving lots of useful tips etc. maybe they run one near you??

if you get a diagnosis you can aply for dla but you may not get it- this can be hit and miss.

If you want any other info let me know ill see what i can find out for you

There is a boy at my school who has been diagnosed with a social communication disorder and he goes home at lunchtime. He is happier, his parents are happier and the class is happier too.
