My 17 month old has always been an amazing sleeper. A 2 hour sleep at lunch time at around midday and bed just after 7 pm but for the last 10 days or so, she takes ages to go to sleep - not always crying but sometimes she really cries and I find it so distressing. Lastnight she was still up at 9 and I admit that I had to bring her downstairs. She went to sleep at 10.15!! Up at 7.15 this morning.
I'm worried that she is showing signs of dropping her daytime nap. My DD1 was 3 years old! It's my peace and time to eat etc when she goes to bed. I can't bear it!
She is really teeting and has goopy eyes. Definitely run down. I'm hoping it's her teeth giving her problems which is why she can't get to sleep.
Surely, one so young still needs a daytime nap?
Do they become more savvy at this stage and start acting up or is she just not tired enough? She walked quite a long way during the afternoon, I'm sure she was tired. She just seems to have so much staying power!
I've put her down now for an hour because she only had 9.5 hours sleep lastnight but will try with a shorter sleep and see how we get on tonight.
