Is 0.9 miles too far for a 5 year old to walk after school?

That's it really, looking at buying a house at the other end of the village to DS's primary school. Bearing in mind DS is often running rings around me on the 15 minute walk he has at the moment I think his energy levels should be fine but DH isn't so sure.
TIA

He'll be fine to walk I think but I find it rather time consuming. We live 1.1 miles from school, dd1 is in Yr 1 now, she copes fine with the walk but each round trip is an hour all told which is a pita. We walk about half the time. You could maybe drive halfway and walk the rest.

No!

Mine walked that far to Nursery. I and many others had over a mile to walk to school when I went to Priamry

Scooters good idea though

Driving not an option as it's one of the many life skills I haven't mastered . But yes, he has a scooter and a bike tho' the bike may be problematic as I'll have a pram as well. It's only in the afternoon as he'll be getting a lift in with his Dad in the morning anyway.
I walked that far from school myself from the reception year but DH is an inveterate driver who saves his walking for 'walking weekends with the boys'

Def not too far, if you have the time. Or the bike idea is good. You could get one too and put the baby in a bike seat (depending on baby's age of course).
