15 wk old has turned into a fussy eater..

My 15 wk old son up till the last couple of weeks, has eaten approx 30 ozs per day (formula) and has been sleeping through the night.

Recently he has started refusing his bottle throughout the day, whining constantly, wanting to be held all the time and started waking up several times in the night.

I can cope with the day issues, however the night times are a pain as he doesn't want food, he just wants to be awake and if no one pays him any attention he shouts and wakes the whole house up. I used a monitor with my daughter as she was so quiet, but now I put the monitor on mute as soon as I go to bed as I can hear him through the walls.

Has anyone any idea what could be causing this, someone has mentioned teething to me, but I thought he was too young.

Ideas please

It could be teething even this early. My daughter got hers really early around 12 weeks the two bottom ones came through then she settled back down to her previous routine.

Ask your HV to check for you if you are unsure.

I'm not able to see my HV but looking on the net is seems that overfeeding after a growth spurt can cause the same thing.

I checked his gums and there are no teeth so far and I didn't persevere with feeding last night and gave up when he fussed and he slept all night long. I have fed him 1oz less per bottle today He has actually shouted at feeding time for his bottle and generally seems a bit happier.

Here's hoping for a quiet night again like last night. It was bliss!!
