my 15wk son has started to pull himself up (with aid) in sitting position and is ok to support his head but at the same time he's become very grumpy and demanding and not only wants to sit up all the time, he wants to be pulled up to stand also and cries as soon as we put him down and is very difficult to occupy him. has anybody else had the same experience? any advice?

My dd2 (dc7) is like this.

She was carried in a sling pretty much permanantly till she was 12-14 wks and was incredibly nosy.

She sat up at 4 months and was pulling herself up to standing by 6-7 months.

She is one next week and is running round!

The others all walked about their first birthday, confidently by 14-15 mths.

She is just desperate to catch up with the others i think, that or run away from them!

We just got our dts a door bouncer - yjey're 16 weeks and the same as your ds.

They love it - bet your ds would too

my 6 week old dd refuses to be held like a baby, she's been supporting her own head since birth (10 days overdue so extra cooking time!) and this week on her tummy is doing Little push ups and trying to push forward with her feet... Arghhh, I suspect we'll have the same problem as you! Why do some babies want to grow up so fast?

my 19 week old is just like that - can't lie there, has to practise rolling over, yelling in frustration as he tries but can't quite manage to crawl; loves nothing better than "standing" /jumping up and down ... wakes himselff - and me! - up several times a night by rolling onto his belly, doing push-ups and looking a bit stuck!

like solelundyfastnet, we've got a door bouncer and he LOVES it . his face is a picture - he looks like a little riverdancer with his legs going!

DS was like this, wasn't happy unless he was being held in a standing position, so we got him this.
He's 9 months now and still uses it, it was definitely worth the money (I was very reluctant to spend 70 quid on one toy at first). He's not crawling yet, mainly because he's too busy pulling himself up on the furniture/us to worry about that!
