devilsadvocaat · 31/12/2009 14:15

Eeeek, hopes she gets over it whatever it is. Dd is all unsettled at the moment too. I hate it when you know there is something bugging them but have no clue what it is. Teething powders sound like a good plan.

StealthPolarBear · 31/12/2009 14:28

what's up with your DD - any idea?
well shes asleep again

I'm guessing teeth as there isn't really anything else obvious but she is all fussy at night. I know she wakes a lot anyway but she usually feeds back to sleep, at the moment it involves screaming, feeding, rocking, bit more screaming, rocking, feeding.....She is perfectly cheerful during the day

Hope dd sleeps a bit longer this afternoon and you have a better night.

StealthPolarBear · 31/12/2009 16:18

oh dear, that sounds like a nightmare.
She had all of 15 mins!

BooHooo · 31/12/2009 16:24

Could she be coming down with something?

StealthPolarBear · 31/12/2009 16:26

well she might be but in general she seems fine, smiling, laughing, cooing, as settled as she ever is. Doesn't seem in pain at all. At the moment she is having a long cooing conversation with DH

BooHooo · 31/12/2009 16:32

aw sweet

Indith · 31/12/2009 16:38

Oh dear, fingers crossed for you for tonight!

Cooing is very cute though.

Igglybuff · 31/12/2009 16:44

Maybe the world is too exciting for her? My DS (13 wks) fights naps now as too much to see. We've had to put a blackout blind up now and spend a while relaxing him before he'll nap. I think there's a developmental "leap" around 16 weeks when babies learn new things - can make their sleep go haywire?

Igglybuff · 31/12/2009 16:49

Just checked - there isn't one at 16 weeks, it's 11-13 and 18-20. Ignore me!

StealthPolarBear · 31/12/2009 19:50

oh she is still doing it, hasn't slept for more than 20 mins today yet
]how am i going to get thru tonight? people coming tomorrwo

Hi stealth any better last night?

Is your DD overtired? DS gets overtired, you think he's fine as he'll coo etc but every now and then he'll look into the distance and gets bags under his eyes... What is DD sleeping in (cot/sling)? Is she being disturbed by anything? Can you try White noise/rocking and pointing her at a boring wall to get her to relax then sleep properly? Again DS won't sleep properly if he's overtired.

StealthPolarBear · 01/01/2010 11:40

Thank you for asking
I think she as better last night but i was ill and DS was playing up definitely seemed to sleep longer though so I think she probably had what I've got now and just needed a drink. Need an early night tonight.
I do think in general you are right though - we struggle to get her to sleep during the day sometimes (so she sleeps on an evening and then doesn't go to bed until 11ish say) so I might try a few of your tips. When I have the energy to do anything other than stand infront of the gas fire

Well get well soon both of you! And hopefully 2010 brings more sleep..

Indith · 01/01/2010 15:10

Poor you, hope you all get some sleep soon. Please feel free to throw children at me and have a nap if you need to. Dd "only" up 8 times last night Still not sure what is up with her but at least ds is sleeping!

For daytime sleeps do you think she just keeps wanting to see what T is doing and so on now she is getting older? Have you tried putting her upstairs if she is in her basket? I spent a few months getting dd to sleep in the sling but then putting her down upstairs and she slept a lot better than if I kept her in the sling. I can't talk about nighttime sleep though as you know (tired, manic)
