High pitched wailing MummymummymummyMUMMY driving me insane

WHAT should I do in response to my 3.3 year old DS1 when he wails/shouts/whinges mummymummymummy constantly? It drives me insane in a way that nothing else has done so far. I can keep my cool in pretty much all situations but this drives me to shouting STOP SAYING MUMMY

It goes like this :mummy I need a wee, mummy mummy I need a wee oh mummy, mummy I need a wee oh thank you mummy for takingme to the bathromm mummy oh no mummy I can't pull my pants down mummy [sob] mummy I am having a wee mummy MUMMY I have finished my wee now oh mummy etc etc etc. And it's not like I am ignoring him because he keeps this up no matter what I say or do. It started a few weeks ago and has got worse over time.

What can I do to stop this and how can I improve my reaction to it, because I am not proud of my current response. At the moment as soon as he starts my blood begins to boil even if I manage to say nothing at first. Please help!

Have you got a cupboard under the stairs to hide in?

You have my sympathy. I am going through the same with dd2 (and dd1) who always want soemthing as soon as I've sat down.

We went throught this a few months ago and its now a longstanding game. DS1 says Mummy and then I say no, (rather than yes in a joking way), its repeated several times and then I say Thomas and he says no....repeat seveal times and then we say Grandma or Uncle Jonathon or some person who isn't there and he laughs. It really did stop the mummy, mummmy, mummy!! I know its a bit of a longshot - but worth a try as its REALLY irritiating

That is worth a try, thanks for the tip.

If I only had ds1 it would not be a problem. Before I got pg with ds2 I was a perfect parent But these days all my patience has gone awol.

Ear plugs? Or do the same thing back to him.

My DS1 did this when he was 2 and it drove me insane. He would say 'Mummy?' and I would say 'yes?' and then he would say nothing. This would be repeated, no exageration every 20 seconds or so for hours and hours on end.

It went on for a few months and like all things he suddenly just stopped. I do remember loosing it with him a couple of times and shouting 'Would you just STOP saying Mummy!!!!'.

I also started saying his name back to him and when he said 'Yes?' I would say nothing. I don't know if that really made any difference though as he was a bit younger. But it made me feel better.
