10 month old baby sick frequently on purpose

I have a baby who is a year old next week (10 months corrected) as she was premature. She vomits everyday and has done so for the last few months. We have been to the doctors, spoken to our consultant and health visitor who tell us its a behaviour problem. Seems scary knowing she is only 10 months/a one year.

She used to vomit when we put her to bed at night after a bottle but now it happens during the day mainly again after a bottle or as she is trying to go to sleep. Sometimes having just changed her and her cot sheets she is sick again and again.

We are certain its not allegy related as she can go through a week or so without being sick. Infact for the 7/8 months she was never sick.

She doesn't eat much food either. I can only place things in her mouth and its limited as to what she eats. Won't eat off a spoon (seeing a speech therapist to help with this) as could be because she was prem.

Wondering how I can stop her from being sick like this. Feel really down and worried about going out incase she is sick in public.
Also worried as she is a tiny 10 month old baby. its like she has to be sick everyday. When she gets the idea in her head thats in you have no chance of stopping her.

Anyone with any advice would be greatly appreciated.

sorry, who has said it's a behaviour problem? just the health visitor? or the GP and consultant too?

personally (and i'm no health care professional) i'd have thought it highly unlikely that at 10 months old a child would display such "behaviour" problems tbh

if it's mainly after a bottle i'd guess that she either has a problem with the contents of the bottle, with the amount being too large, or with something about it triggering a gag reflex or similar (possible, as she also has food issues)

fwiw, my 2 youngest hate/d eating off a spoon too, we just gave them finger foods and let them get on with it

agree with thisisyesterday - behavioural sounds a bit barmy

My DD didn't eate solids with any interest until she was around 14 months - she just WASN'T INTERESTED but eventually found her own way. So please try not to fret too much.

I'd stop giving her a bottle before she sleeps perhaps it is just too much fluid in one go now that she is on solids?

I to want to know how they've established it is a behavioural problem.

My dd2 had tongue tie as a baby (was snipped at 3 weeks) it took her until 10 months before she would try finger food I think she didn't have the muscle control until then to manage with proper food. How prem was your dc?

I mean fret about the solids issue in itself - I would worry far more about the vomiting. Sorry but I would be harassing them for referrals to gastro consultants/paediatricians goodness knows who else. Do they have OTHER 10 month old babies with this history and presentation?!
