and not rolling over or playing with cards!

he was having a furtle (as boys do) when he got something simillar to an erection. he was most proud of it! dh told him to ignore it and it will stop, but surely he's a bit young for this?

God, not too young at all.
Some wee boys get it from birth.
Don't make anything of it.

thisisyesterday · 10/12/2009 21:08

hehehe they all do it lissie, totally normal

Lifeinagoldfishbowl · 10/12/2009 21:09

Nope not to young at all IIRC can happen to babies too

nickytwotimes · 10/12/2009 21:09

...and it is not at all sexual at this age. Just a reflex action.

lissielouskissingsantaclaus · 10/12/2009 21:13

lol, was just a bit taken aback by it! didnt know how to react at all. he was so proud of it and didnt know whether to laugh, tell him to stop it and put it away or mutter something about it being very nice and normal but not for the dinner table.

Fabulous!

ds 3yrs shows us his tricks and says woohoo look at this.
Causing much blushing and squealing among teenage dd1 and her friends.

'Put it away please. We are not interested.'
Mother runs off to broom cupboard stifling giggles.

madamy · 10/12/2009 21:15

DS who's 2.7 gets ever so cross when this happens! We hear shouts of "willy down" and he appears looking really worried!

monkeyfacegrace · 10/12/2009 21:18

My ds (10mnths) has been having them since birth. Its sooooo cute, his diddy willy gets...well....all hard and sweet!
[realises one day it wont be quite so sweet ]

lissielouskissingsantaclaus · 10/12/2009 21:20

DS (5) had it from birth too. Spontaneous and aided rising these days

lissielouskissingsantaclaus · 10/12/2009 21:42

Can vouch for them being from birth....DS is 3.5 months old and I have been known to shout to DH 'ooh look, he's got a stiffy again!'

NotanOtter · 10/12/2009 21:46

i was in H and m at the weekend with dp and ds ( aged 3) as i was trying a coat on - on the shop floor ds was under the rack - and emerged on his knees with a horrid erection peeping out of his trousers which he was holding down

i was horrified and said 'now naughty dont do that ' or words to that effect - whilst at the time batting the erection down...bizarre - i think it was the shock made me bat at it!

ds4 always has them! ewww

some do some dont

lissielouskissingsantaclaus · 10/12/2009 21:51

DS has recently started waving his Babyboner about in the bath. (He's two at the end of the month.)

Funily enough, his dad does the same thing.

WingedVictory · 10/12/2009 21:58

Hee hee, DS (20 mo) has been having them, too. I'm not sure at all what causes them, but recently I have been observing, and he seems a bit annoyed at having it "put away" in his nappy at the end of a change. Probably is a bit uncomfortable?!

[shades of Joyce Grenfell, and a few sniggers....]

GoldenSnitch · 10/12/2009 22:03

If I had £1 for every "babyboner" (love that term cranky) that I've had to tuck away on a half asleep DS as we did midnight nappy changes on him when he was a baby, I..well, I could afford a take out pizza at least. Maybe even a meal out!

VKinTheManger · 10/12/2009 22:50

Oh!!! Nearly crying with laughter at Notanotter "batting" it and the term "babyboner"!

lissielouskissingsantaclaus · 11/12/2009 09:39

im so glad thazt ds isnt the only one. its downhill from here now though isnt it?
