DS has just developed a habit of chewing through his dummies. He only has them for nap times and at night. If he wakes early, we leave him for a bit as he's quite happy lying there singing to himself but I think he's also using that time to have a good old chew on his dummy. The first thing he said to me this morning was "dummy broken".
We'd planned on doing the whole "dummy fairy" thing with him in a few months time but for the moment I think he's too young to understand it (he's 2.1). I don't mind him having a dummy for sleeping. But it's getting really expensive to keep replacing them as we get him the orthodontic ones and he's getting through about 2 a week at the moment.
So, it's either get him to stop chewing them, keep buying them, or give them up altogether. Has anyone else had this issue? What did you do? I did tell him this morning that he musn't chew the dummies as he'll break them but if he's doing it when he's half asleep, he can't really help it.
