Argh end of tether with DS, today takes the biscuit

I posted the other day about DS(6) whinging and whining all the time but today takes the biscuit.

Firstly DH's aunt came to take DS for tea, he created so much havoc screaming about not going that she went home without him.

Then at teatime (I wasn't therefore DH was getting him tea) they were sitting at the table, DH can hear water running, DS sitting at table weeing himself! Asked why and DS shrugged his shoulders and said he couldn't be bothered to go upstairs.

I really don't know how to deal with this, punishment? remove treat? argh please help before I give him away in the free bit on mumsnet!

Your response to ds' behaviour is key.

I have started a punishment regime today for DD(5) who whines and cries ALOT.

I have a small pack of Haribo (about 10) at the beginning of the day.
Each time she cries or whines, one goes in the bin or underfoot.

Whatever is left at the end of the day is hers.

It really worked. I think whining and crying ('You gave me an apple instead of gra-ha-hapes - sob') has become a habit. Today I was able to nip a couple of whining/crying jags in the bud by asking 'are you really sure you want to cry about this?'. She would think for a bit and then grin and say 'no'.

She only lost 4 haribos today. I think after a couple of weeks I may have broken the habit.

No DS doesn't have learning difficulties at all.

DH made him sit in it and finish eating his tea, then he made him get ready for bed straight away.

It appears DS may be frightened of walking upstairs in the dark HOWEVER I think DS is very clever and just likes his own way. I'm not belittling him if he is scared but sometimes if its something he wants to do he is quite happy to go upstairs!!! He's just cannot be bothered half the time.
