i thought i would post the link here if others, like us, are in need of a different strategy to teach the kids keep their room clean (we have plenty of issues with that ). what do you mums think?

here is the article www.crisiscounseling.com/Articles/CleanRooms.htm

there are more articles about other parenting issues and i could actually learn quite a few things from most of them.

I'd like you to try it and report back!

.. do you think it's too harsh? i was thinking about it myself, but then i liked the 'buy back your things' option ....

I am going to give this a try (I will need to really blitz dd's room first...)

I don't think it is too harsh at all.

Maybe he should have just cut to the chase and started on his final sentence, this may have more effect.

'One final suggestion, it may help if you start giving your child an allowance for chores and give them a bonus for each day there is nothing to put in the tub.'

I know that I don't have the time/energy/commitment to keep up with it. I don't even manage this in my bedroom or study, so I can't see me managing it in my childrens'rooms. I think it's a good idea. We are quite busy people;I think you'd have to be home a lot to keep ontop of the regime. Maybe a New Year project?
