Anyone recomend a self help book to try to help tame my 4 year old boy

My DS2 is 4 and just started school, he is becoming quite naughty, always fighting with his older brother and generally using up all my energy telling him off and trying to get him to do as he is told. We have recently had another baby, a little girl so I am really worried about him becoming the dredded "middle child". I dont want to create it IYKWIM.
Anyone got any good books which I can follow to knock him back into line...feel like he needs to go to boot camp!
TOddler books seem to be too young.

Just wanted to say that I fel your pain. DS is 4 in Dec and we too have just had a baby (4 weeks). DS is driving me round the bend! He never listens to a word I say, thinks he is the boss of the house and has terrific tantrums and rages if we don't give in to him over everything. He is not in school (not due until next Sept) but this year is going to be a hard one for me I think.

Btw we do loads of praise, quality time etc - he couldn't get any more but we can't ignore the bad stuff like violence, stirring the toilet (filled with poo) with his hands etc !

I quite like "Raising Boys" .

Am going to have a look at the "How to..." book though...I like the title.

I've just ordered it! I am desperate.

oh brillianbt, thats good as my mother in law has ordered "how to... " so I will give that a go. Have read "raising boys", its really good to understand why your boys are doing what they do but I didnt think it was a huge amount of help to reset bad behavoiur.

try and find a parenting course- either via hv, doctors surgery,parentline or surestart center-they are fab. i have done 4- my eldest is 9 now- always learn lots and meet lovely mums.

I second 'Raising Boys' - it's really good.

'1-2-3- Magic' - not so much a self help, more of a method for taming unwanted behaviour. Worked for us. Good luck.
