Do you let your ds happily "twiddle" his diddle?

My son (2) discovered his willy a while ago. He sometimes twiddles and I just let him. He's too young to know any better and "if it feels good, do it" is the only comment i can make. Others will have a problem with this I know. What do your boys do?

well they started twiddling well before 2! they're 29 and 30 now and probably still do

Glad it's not just my ds! He'd have his hand in his nappy 24 hours a day if he could!

Yeah I leave them to their bits. As I'm sure you know they keep doing it throughout their lives.

my ds doesnt tend to do this but he is older. I think its fairly normal to "find" himself and I would be inclined to leave him to it unless of course its causing offence ie. in church or as he's being pushed along the road etc

Maybe discourage in public / nursery or if it seems to be a little to frequent, this could become a very embarresing habit to deal with in the middle of tescos . Other wise its perfectly normal and part of developing DS 8 confines it to bed but is quite comfortable about his Diddle but knows what might be inapropriate at certain times.

Don't stop them really - sometimes they tug and it looks like it hurts and I find myself automatically saying 'oh, don't do that to your willy' which is usually followed by 'why?' (plus grin) and I usually say 'because you'll hurt yourself'!!

Otherwise I leave em to it - they are 4 and 2.

My ds (just 2) found his yesterday and I have no intention of telling him to stop fiddling unless he starts getting it out in inappropriate places (ie at nursery or in the butchers!).

We still haven't decided what we are going to call it yet. We are leaning towards willy though, not offensive but not too obscure either .

my ds twiddles his when tired/for comfort. Absolutely perfectly normal. Who would have a problem with it if you dont mind me asking. He is only 2 and I am sure as he gets older he will learn social etiquitte on twiddling.. Then they starting rooting for treaure up their wee noses..

Social etiquette seemed to kick in at about 3 with my boys (3 & 7). Now seem to mainly keep such tuggings for bath or bed time!

my ds 13 mths makes a grab for his willy as soon as the nappy comes off...problematic when he's done a liquidy poop (!)

yes I did. We figured that he would soon want to do something else so didn't go on at him, as a result he did get bored and was neevr going to spend an hour doing it...you have to decide what you are comfortable with but I do think it's more a worry from the parents who think their son shouldn't but let's fact they all do, they'll soon do something else (screw women...soory) you know what I mean....the less fuss you make the less they will do it.
