what age is it safe to put a baby to sleep on her tummy.

just put sleeping dd into her crib on back and she screamed and screamed she sounded like she was in pain so took her out and gave her a cuddle and lay her on the bed on her tummy and she fell asleep instantly. put her back into crib and shes still asleep (on back) but she obviously seems happier on her tummy

DD always wanted to sleep on her side for daytime nap - I gave in in the end and just had to keep checking her (she was sleeping on an alarm pad too though)

shes crying again i know she has wind but tried eveything to get it up and just not working might just have to lie with her while she is on her tummy

just put her in her car seat and she seems happy now now i have no excuse for not making tea now

My son has slept on his tummy since birth, he is 8 weeks old. But he could lift and turn his head from day 2 so I didn't think there was anything to worry about also he sleeps better and seems happier on his tummy.

when I put him on his side he rolls on to his tummy.

hiya s.shaker, mines 6 weeks too and is happier on tummy, same problem, awful wind wakes him every 10 mins screaming. Tried Coleif, infacol, gripe etc. Does your dd do lots of blow offs? I only ask as this is the only way I can get wind out of ds by pushing his knees up to his tummy when he's on the changing mat, leaving his a minute then keep repeating. I am then rewarded with wall shaking noises might be worth a try

the same for me. my ds is 10 weeks now and he has slept on his tummy since birth even though the midwives kept telling me to put him on his back or side, he just wouldn't have it!! e could turn his head from day 2 aswell.

when they roll over on their own even then you should put them down on their tummy

Hey March29, don't you find that they sleep better that way if they like it? Is your son turning as well?

My son just keeps wrigling when on back and wakes up he just will not settle unless on tummy. he usually find his way to the top of the bed by the time he wakes up.
