When do kids start making and/or drinking tea & coffee?

Was interested to see on the 'chores' thread that several people have their kids making them tea and coffee.

I'm sure DS1 (9) could do this (and it would be great for DH & I!) but I've avoided asking him, as I'm sure the next, logical development would be him wanting one for himself, and I don't feel young children need the caffeine from these drinks.

However I can remember drinking coffee at my friends' house when I was about 13/14, so when does it start?

What do yours do?

Funny how things are different in different countries. My American exH wouldn't dream of drinking coffee (or tea, naturally since that is unAmerican,) or letting the DCs have either coffee or tea, yet he thought nothing of feeding them all sorts of caffeinated and sugary fizzy drinks even while they were toddlers. He himself started drinking beer (illegally as a teen -- legal age is 21 LOL) long before he had his first cup of coffee. I remember drinking tea and coffee from earliest years growing up, while hardly ever getting anything fizzy. If you ever lived in Ireland you would see babies, toddlers, children all drinking really milky tea, at least until about the 80s. My teenage DDs love those fancy expensive coffees, but only the older one, age 19 makes her own. DS, also a teen, considers the fancy coffees beneath his dignity.
