How to I stop almost 3 year old ds shouting "Hello poo-poo head" to random strangers

He does it with a big grin.

I have told him not to, and try to ignore it when possible. But his "victims" probably need to see him being told off, which makes it difficult to ignore.

Help!

I really don't have any idea where it has come from. Probably nursery.

When our kid was that age he could manage initial consonant clusters very easily, so "tr" sounds came out as "f"s.

Coupled with his obsession with "trucks", poo-poo face would have been a lot easier to handle.

I'd ignore it and am sure he'll soon lose interest.

couldn't

ds calls me poo poo head all the time. my neighbours son wanted to sign a form for starting school that he had to write his name on with poo poo head.

i live in hope it's phase they grow out of.

Am now reconsidering the wisdom of reading a "New Baby" book to my 2 and a bit year old DS in which the new big brother repeatedly refers to his new little sister as Poo Poo Head!!!

Helen31 · 16/07/2009 18:32

Thanks for an entertaining thread. And oh dear SarahL2, you really will only have yourself to blame .

Ok Im going to come clean, my daughter says 'look mummy a poopoo head' when she sees a coloured person [emoticon for cringe/run/ground open up] Which has resulted in puzzles and books with coloured people in, and a few serious chats! But I live in a very very white area, and its totally out of the ordinary for her to see a black person. So if you want to swap your cheeky son for my innocently offensive daughter then great!!

DS recently went through a stage of this. What worked for us was to take him to the toilet every time the word poo poo was mentioned. He soon stopped it!

i told them off
