Potty Training from about 8 months

Yes I knew that would get your attention! I've been told (and agree) that you can't start p.t. until they know what they're doing, so from about 8 months (or whenever) whenever they're having a poo (which has always been pretty obvious with my 2!) say things like 'are you haveing a POO?' 'POO for mummy' etc etc, really emphasising the 'poo' word. I think it worked with dd (now 4 1/2) but she was quick in general. However my dd is 17 months and very slow (bless him!). Seems to have very little vocal skills yet, BUT this morning I happened to mention 'poo' in a conversation and he did a very impressive grunt. I've said a few times since 'Christopher do a poo' and he does this great grunt! You'd have to know him to appreciate how impressive it is, but I really think it's a tip worth sharing.

Alternatively, you could start from birth!! There's information on how to do away with nappies altogether, on this site which someone sent me.
