7 Mths having tantrums in buggy

Hi, my DS normally a smiley, baby who goes to bed and follows a routine a night but has started having tantrums when I put him in his buggy. He cries 'til he falls asleep if he's tired or just cries 'til I pick him up. I've lasted 35 mins. He's not hungry, doesn't kick off at night in the cot or in the car seat just the buggy. Any suggestions welcome? I've tried toys, finger food and drinks.

I guess he's just beginning to have an opinion, which is he doesn't want to sit in it. And all you can really do is let him out and sit him on your hip some of the time and other times he just has to go in it.

As he grows, he will understand that sometimes he goes in and then gets out at the park/pond and a nice thing happens! Other times he'll learn he has to tolerate it while you go to the docs/shops etc.

In the meantime, you might just have to weather the screams and make the trips as short as possible.

If its any help, my DD1 was quite happy in her buggy but my DTs hated it. I had no choice but to have them in it and it drew even more unwelcome attention from the passing crowd. But it did pass

You can always play the dafty and run fast, spin him round, tip him up, generally act like a loon to make him giggle. If he doesn't like it, then the passersby and local drivers will be suitably entertained

My ds was like this from day one! Hated the buggy and the carseat. I tried snacks, drinks, toys anything to keep him amused but nothing worked and I can't tel you the number of times I've walked home with him screaming and then had to carry him and push the empty buggy. Sadly all that helped was him getting older and getting a parent facing buggy like the Loola or Quinny Buzz etc.

He's 22 months now and will tolerate being in the pushchair for a couple of hours now. I think it's cos he's able to chatter more about what he can see and where we are going etc. He still has to be in a rear facing buggy though. He seems to like constant conversation when he's in there and the other day I put him in my friends forward facing buggy and he cried after about 5 monutes to get out.

I thinkuntil about a year I just relied upon the sling, the buggy was just too stressful!

dd4 is not fond of the buggy. which is a b*gger as i love buggies lol.

Thanks for replies. It helps to know that I'm not the only one. Put him in a backpack carrier today for a hike, and he was fine, for an hour and a half. I guess I'll just get fit using the sling. An you're right when he's facing me and I talk or sing to him he's distracted. But I guess he just get's bored
